SECOND PHASE Of TEACHING PRACTICE πŸ“š❤️πŸ‘­πŸ“ƒπŸ“”

The second phase of our teaching practice commenced at AKMHSS, Mylapore, on June 10th, 2024. A group of 19 dedicated student teachers from Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore, arrived at the school, each of us bringing unique expertise across various subjects. Among us, four specialized in English: Karthika, Monisha, Nishida, and Sajna.❤️
Weekly Reflection - Week 1

  (June 10, 2024 - June 15, 2024)

The first week of our teaching practice at AKMHSS, Mylapore, marked the beginning of our journey . For the four of us from the English option—Karthika, Monisha, Nishida, and Sajna—this was a particularly significant week as we began teaching English to Classes IX and VIII.

Throughout the week,I faced various challenges. Managing classroom , was a critical task for me.However, these experiences taught us valuable lessons in classroom management and student engagement. Each day began with a reflective review of our lesson plans.
I got assigned to teach the 8th standard.πŸ§‘‍πŸŽ“πŸ§‘‍πŸŽ“ The students were new to the school, so they were also adjusting to their new environment. This context added an extra layer of importance to creating a welcoming and supportive classroom atmosphere .I began the class with a warm introduction, sharing a bit about myself and encouraging the students to do the same. This helped to break the ice and build a rapport with them.

I started with the first chapter, "The Mysterious Picture,"πŸ–Ό️ from the unit "Hues and Views." 
As the week progressed, the students understanding of "The mysterious picture " deepened. Their responses to the language activities and creative writing tasks were thoughtful and insightful, reflecting their growing connection to the story. The follow-up activities, such as writing a conversation or a profile related to the chapter , allowed them to express their thoughts creatively.

In conclusion, the first week of teaching practice in Class VIII A at AKMHSS has been a valuable experience.❤️πŸ“šπŸ“‘
